It's situated halfway up a hill between the main street of Hersonissos and the picturesque restaurant village of Koutouloufari. The beach is about 300m down the hill. The main high street of Hersonissos is a typical holiday destination shopping street full of banks, supermarkets, souvenir shops and car hire companies.

At the centre of the capital city of Heraklion, you can visit the archeological history museum and a variety of monuments, including the 4 Lions and Loggia. Eight kilometres from Heraklion is the famous Palace of Knossos. From Hersonissos, you can visit many tourist resorts including the following: Malia 8 kilometres away 10 minutes by car or taxi and 15 minutes by bus. There are a number of water parks close to Hersonissos, these include Water City, 15 kilometres, 20 minutes by car and 40 minutes by bus. AquaPlus is 8 kilometres away, 10 minutes by car.
